What a creaturous fellow! So mingled of mirth and mediocrity. The description of transformations was really good and everyone's names were great! Mr. Guest, Mr. Utterson (aka Mr. Seek), so many great names. Jekyll just needed to practice a bit of self control but couldn't stand not dallying. The old movie version of Hyde is so beautiful, he's got this grimace and allure to his eyes that's so charming for a creature such as him. I came across this story way way back in the movie Page master and it scared me to the bone and I am glad to have read it now with thinking eyes and rosy cheeks!

Mr. Hyde in the book? Evil you cannot put your finger on. Mr. Hyde in the movie? Why does he look so- so- so charming???

I read this as something recommended to me considering undertaking a PhD and I found this a good story on the act of investigating and the foray into unknown. The main character thought others may have had answers to his scientific questions but were hiding it from him yet his answers were not known. In trying to help benefit his fellow dog, he isolated himself from them and loathed them yet still wanted to raise them higher? His scientific investigations led further into more philosophical ones which harkens back to the concept of natural philosophy becoming the science of today and the fine line that may divide where philosophical thoughts stop and scientific rigour begins. Had to think over a lot of lines to try get some meanings for myself which I liked, it challenged me so good short story, thumbs up.
