10 days. 1,258 pages.
Every single page was worth it.
This is, by far, the heftiest book I have ever read and also the greatest fantasy novel I have ever dived into.
I had always wondered what made Brandon Sanderson so beloved, and now I finally understand. He has the incredible ability to write a thousand-page book that somehow feels too short, leaving you hungry for more.
The Way of Kings is only the first book in the series (and the shortest one, by the way), yet it made me feel every emotion imaginable. I’m the kind of reader who rarely shows much emotion while reading, but this book had me on the edge of my seat, made me scream, had me uttering words I probably shouldn’t have, and got me so invested in characters that I’d do anything for them as if I knew them personally.
This is only Book 1, and I already can’t stop talking about it. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for me.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5

“She looks so fucking happy compared to where she started. And then I shrug, because it didn’t feel hard to survive at all. I loved it. So all I say back is, “When can we do it again?””
I really love seeing Rhys be able to open up and accept family members. It’s very heartwarming and a well done introduction of working on yourself and building into the family you want to create. Really shows his resilience and passion for wanting Milo to have what he never did growing up.
