The fact that Laurence continually refers to this building-sized reptile as 'my dear' is the CUTEST THING oml.
I want a dragon so bad. :c

Hey, beautiful people ๐ซ After that post I made in the forum I felt so surprised to see so many people relate to my situation, and it was overwhelming (in the best way) to feel everyone's support and understanding. So I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to give me a little uplifting, it really made a difference.
This made me think that we really are a community of dear anonymous friends, who support each other through the love of books. Which led me to this thought: There are so many beautiful and original usernames... What's the story behind each one? (except for one_crazy_eliott, I think I understand the reason behind Mr. Crazy's username ๐คญ๐คญ๐คญ)
So, if you feel comfortable, share the story behind it. I think it will help bring us closer and keep everyone's anonymity anyway.
I'll start: The OGs know I started PB as fantasy.betareader but decided later to change my username to Pipsy to help me feel more connected here. This is a nickname my sister gave me when I was 3 or 4 years old, and it stuck until today. My whole family calls me by it, my friends, my teachers, my bosses, etc. Even on my passport, my signature says Pipsy. So that's basically my name ๐

Post from the Persuasion forum
I have actually read this before now, but I had forgotten how Anne's passiveness early in the story grated on my nerves. The way her father and sister are so dismissive of her makes me rage.
Post from the Master and Commander (Aubrey/Maturin, #1) forum
First of all - I adored the movie. It's one of my favorite films of all time. I've been meaning to pick up the book series for a long while now but knew from what others had told me that it's fairly dense. The audiobook has helped somewhat, but I do find that I am enjoying the descriptions and the narrator's wry tone when giving them. Jack in the book is nothing like Jack in the movie, but I'm not too bothered by it!
Post from the His Majesty's Dragon (Temeraire, #1) forum
I had heard a rumor somewhere that this series started out as fan fiction of Master & Commander and that, by itself, would have been enough to get me to read this thing - to say nothing of the fact there are TALKING DRAGONS? I adore Temeraire and think Laurence fully deserves his captaincy.
Post from the A Natural History of Dragons (The Memoirs of Lady Trent, #1) forum
Honestly, I wish I had known about this series WAY sooner. I completely relate to Lady Trent's obsession with dragons and I love the narration in this book so far.

I have to admit that i always skip prologue and jump to read chapter 1 ๐
edited:
Why do I skip prologues and jump straight to chapter one?
I mostly read ๐ฑ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ธ ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ, and after reading a few prologues, I noticed they often ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐ถ๐น things โ like the ๐บ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ๐ฟโ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐บ๐ฎ, ๐ฎ ๐ณ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐๐ฝ๐น๐ฒโ๐ ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฒ โ all of which ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฝ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐น๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ ๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐ฝ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ anyway. (This happens not just in dark romance, but in romance in general.) For ๐๐ต๐ฟ๐ถ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ฟ๐, I tend to skip prologues because they usually
So for me, whateverโs in the prologue usually gets mentioned again in the chapters, which makes it feel unnecessary to read!
