4.5 ⭐️ Arc from Netgalley This book was absolutely amazing from start to finish. You have a small town romance with a mix of magic and is the definition of cozy. The book follows the story of Ethan, a grumpy single dad of three who’s a farmer, and Honey, an auditor for the bureau of Magical Compliance who has to do a report on a well found in Ethan’s farm.
The writing was good which made it an easy read. The author’s ability in the portrayal of children got me hooked. The development of their love was done really well with so much gentleness embedded into their relationship. This book’s premise wasn’t about magic while it’s involved, it’s more about the two main characters evolving and learning to live in different ways than what they have trapped themselves in. The dynamics and relationships throughout the books were really easy to fall in love with whether it’s the relationship of Honey and the girls or even the side characters.
The one issue I had with this book that I would’ve loved more backstory on the world building and how it came to be in order to understand how everything works more. Usually I have a list of things I didn’t like across the book so the fact that it was only this says a lot!
Other than that, i loved every single bit of this story and would definitely recommend reading it.

Hi guys! I am in too many readathon challenges, but what's one more? I want to read ALL of the romance tropes. Not just sports romance, but also breaking it down into the different sports and so on. I am currently making a spreadsheet tracker for it and would love it if you dropped all the ideas. Broad niche everything.

The year we became more is a story about a girl whom struggled with insecurity most of her life because of her cleft lip and a boy who fell intro drugs after trauma. This book is definitely on the upper YA side and you should check the trigger warnings first. If you’re someone who loved binding 13 then this should be right up your alley. It’s a sweet book that portrays both characters dealing with their own issues and becoming stronger together. The portrayal of teenagers and the friend group was done really well in my opinion that it felt easy to like the characters and connect with them. The characters love story felt soft and pure. I really love the therapy sessions portrayal and how it felt like it was actually helpful unlike multiple books I’ve read. I only had two issues with the book which were how absent Addie’s mom was especially when it came to her emotions given she’s a psychologist and how the fact that he was a drug addict wasn’t taken as seriously (ex: how it’s really easily disregarded that he’s driving while high yet addie doesn’t really think about that and ignores it). Overall, it was a nice read and I’d love to see the other relationships in the friend grp develop too!

Arc obtained from Netgalley The Next Big thing was a book that felt like it came out of a 2000’s romcom movie in your typical small town story with gossip and friendship. It was pure fluff and really wholesome. The writing was really easy to follow along. I loved the dynamics between the characters, platonic and romantic. It briefly touches on themes of grief but nothing that takes away from the romantic comedy vibes, but enough to add character to the story. The banter in the book was done really well given that I didn’t cringe nor did I think that it was done too much that it’s annoying, instead it was nice to see the characters relationship develop. Overall, this was a really nice book to read and I can’t wait to read more of the authors stories and even a whole book just about Lolly’s past!

Y'all I was fighting tooth and nail against my book slump, I wanted to read so bad but couldn't! Only had the energy to play some video games.
Thankfully, I was accepted to read an ARC of one of my favorite authors, Kimberly Lemming. From the very first chapter I was interested and the more I read the more I got hooked.
What about y'all? Going slump-free? In the trenches? If you're slump-free, what are you reading and are you having a good time? If you're battling the evil Slump, do you have any books in mind that might help or what are you doing to pass the time?

Review of advance copy received from Netgalley This book follows the story of a teenager girl who has to handle the grief of her mother’s death while dealing with issues a 17 year old would with fitting in, romance, and more. Overall, I loved the writing in this book especially the way the author described every scene making imaging it so much easier and the book a really easy read to follow along. I especially loved the writing within the griefs portrayal and how each family member dealt with it in a different way. I finished this book in one sitting and I was really invested to know more as the story was unfolding. One of my favorite things about the book is how the fmc is outspoken regarding her boundaries whether that is not wanting to continue a conversation or feeling uncomfortable in a specific situation which is a quality every teenager should learn. Now for the things I didn’t like. First off, I didn’t like how conversations around alcohol mixing with medical or driving under the influence held no regard and was passed on as something teenagers do, which is true; however, I would’ve liked seeing consequences for this. I also didn’t like the therapy sessions as it felt like the therapist wasn’t really helpful and was just there. (The following sentence could be considered a spoiler) Lastly , I wish there would’ve been a longer gap before she got into the relationship in order to build herself while also giving asher time to recover and start working on himself to earn her, but that would require the book to be longer which maybe wasn’t plausible. Overall, I loved reading this book especially it being YA, yet not afraid to talk about topics that many teenagers have to deal with while also shedding light on mental illnesses.
