  • Trialing community-voted Quests, inspired by Lists (3/18/2026)

Quests, created by Top Contributors, are such a labor of love, and they put so much time and effort into research and curation. As Pagebound grows, we have been brainstorming sustainable ways to create more Quests that the community is eager to see. We're trialing a new idea for a community-voted Quest, inspired by a List.

    How this will work:

    1. Royalty members can nominate a List (their own or any community List) that would make a great starting point for a Quest. Royalty members will receive a notification tomorrow with a link to a form to fill out by EOD March 31st to nominate. The form will include context about what makes for a great Quest.
    2. The entire Pagebound community will then vote on which nominated List will inspire a Quest. Everyone will receive a notification on April 1st with a link to vote.
    3. The creator of the winning List will be able to accept/reject.
    4. If they accept, we will create a Quest inspired by their List, adapting the title & book list if necessary to fit Quest guidelines (for example, if a List has 20 books, we will reduce it to 15 for a Side Quest; if a List includes all 7 books of a series, we would put book 1; all books from the Quest would come from the original List curation). In the Quest description, the List creator will be credited and their List linked. The resulting Quest could be either a Main or Side Quest, but it will not be open to book additions since there will not be anyone actively maintaining the book list (similar to when a Main Quest hits its 100 book cap and is closed to further additions).

We hope this idea will encourage quality List-making, give the entire community a voice in Quest creation in a sustainable way, acknowledge our Royalty supporters, and result in more diverse Quests. We think it can be a fun community-building activity! That said, we will see if this trial achieves those goals before deciding if and how often we'll repeat it.

Thanks for helping us trial and your open-minded participation! Jennifer & Lucy

  • Product & App Updates [3/16/2026]

Hi everyone, we've been quietly releasing new features and quality of life updates over the past month on all platforms, please make sure your app is updated to see the latest improvements!

One of the biggest updates is moderation improvement. We have new tools for both our moderators (who run the PageboundGuide account) and for the community:

    • You can now report a post, review, or comment for spoilers
    • You can send a post or comment to PBGuide for Content Guideline violations
    • Of course, you can still flag a post, comment, review, or user profile for hate speech, harassment, self-promo, etc

PageboundGuides will review all reported content and either:

    • add a spoiler tag to posts & reviews
    • flag comments with spoilers
    • approve flags for posts/reviews/comments/profiles that violate the Terms & Conditions (hate speech etc)
    • archive Posts that do not meet the Posting & Content Guidelines

What is archiving? When a post does not meet the Content Guidelines (link here, quick version under Account & Settings -> Posting Guidelines in the app) PBGuide can archive the post from the book forum. The post is hidden from the default forum view but stays on your profile and book journey. You can include archived posts in your forum view by changing the forum filter from "All Posts" to "Include archived posts"

The PBGuides have been working hard behind the scenes to clean up very busy forums (especially the readalong forums). We know this has been a point of frustration for many, and giving everyone the ability to send these posts to PBGuide for review is just one of many ways we will be improving forum quality over the coming months.

    Other New Features & Improvements

    • Feed filters on your Main Feed and Following feed
    • Message on your Yearly Challenge letting you know if you are ahead or behind on your goal
    • Streaks! & editing past reading progress (click the streak widget to edit and view historical progress)
    • Navigation changes on app: Profile is it's own tab where More menu used to be. The More menu is now on the top left next to the Pagebound logo
    • Block & Report users from the profile page
    • Reading progress bar added to the Book Page for currently reading books

Right now we are working on a huge, exciting project: Format tracking, stats, and monthly wrapups. Goal is to have this out in the next month!

You can always check the Roadmap to see what we're working on. If you want to support the continued development of Pagebound and add feature requests to the roadmap, please consider joining Pagebound Royalty (crown icon in the navbar)! Our Royalty members make it possible for us to provide a high quality, ad-free experience for all 🙏

    Happy Reading, Jennifer & Lucy

I wish that when I post an update to a forum it would automatically update my progress to that location for that book. It feels redundant to post something from a certain page in the forum and then additionally post that I’m on that page in the progress section. So, I end up not posting my progress. Is this in the works? Perhaps, there could be a box to check that posts our location to our progress at the same time. That would give people a choice. Thanks! 😊

True stories about abortion from many perspectives, told through art. I’m glad this book exists. It was fascinating to read the stories and see the different drawing styles. I’m thankful I never needed an abortion and I’m thankful that it was an option if I did. The world is a very different place now and I worry about women in their reproductive years. If you or someone you know has had an abortion I recommend reading this book.

This scientifically accurate and age-appropriate book introduces kids to the three types of microbes that are commonly called germs. Then learn what they are and the difference between pathogens that harm us and the microbes that often help us. Kids also learn how to stay are, including the value of vaccines. I love all of Bethany Barton’s books!

It seems logical to say that nature is good for us, but Marc G. Berman tests and quantifies how and why. There are three main parts to Nature and the Mind. The first four chapters investigate our current attention crisis. Part two is all about nature prescriptions and why they re helpful. Finally, part three looks ahead to how we can redesign our lives to reduce the attention problem by using what Dr. Berman learned to make life better for all of us.

“Nature is not an amenity, but is a necessity, leading to mental and physical health benefits, from reducing depression to aiding in the recovery from chemotherapy, from reducing stress to lowering mortality rates.”
