āHungry children eat anything you give them. An ounce of kindness. The most broken love. Even a crumb is enough when you are hungry. You take what is given and say thank you.ā
She writes with the emotion of having lived it. Ugh, thereās so many lines that hit so hard and I have to sit here and absorb them before I can continue. It truly resonates and breaks my heart at the same time

Hi everyone, I am here to tell you all about a website I found recently that has been a total game changer for me!
The website is fantasticfiction.com and the purpose of the website is to find new releases by your favorite authors. All you have to do is sign up and follow as many authors as you want, you will then get notified via email when authors you follow announce new books. āØ
I used to have an instagram account solely to follow authors and stay up to date on their new releases but found that I was missing a lot of their posts. Iāve also been slowly deleting all my social media because itās just not good for me so this website has been perfect and I hope it helps someone else too!

I donāt know about yāall, but I am always on the hunt for new friends to steal books fromāyes, even from those who are pro-tomato even if theyāre WRONG. /t
I wanted to make a post so we can all share our ISOs for niches of books we like and find folks we want to follow so we can hop on board their TBR Trains š
The idea in general is for each of us to make a comment with what weāre looking for, and for those who read something on our list and want to be followed to reply so we can find them! Not sure what that looks like? You can find my own post in the comments. š«¶

Hi all! I'm trying to find more creators worth watching on Youtube as I've moved away from other social media platforms and want more long form content. I was wondering if anyone had some recommendations on youtubers who are doing book deep dives/reviews, giving recommendations, etc. I'm super into fantasy and sci-fi, though I'm open to diving into other genres if the book is well-written and fun. (I also would prefer to watch creators with progressive views that create a diverse, inclusive space)

i do not mean that a book has something you hate, but you are reading a book and an author does something (like write in a certain way or chose a particular name etc) that gives you the ick and you are no longer into the book

I was wondering what everyone's favorite movies and tv shows are that have been adapted from books?
The three that come to mind for me are Interview with the Vampire (I like the movie, and I prefer the show over the books themselves), Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein, and Howl's Moving Castle.

I've never understood reading to fall asleep. Reading activates my mind even more than watching tv. Even if I try to read something nonfiction and "boring", I promise you I'm down a rabbit hole within the next 10 pages. Audiobook versions will, however, put me to sleep. I think it's because I have trash auditory processing so it's essentially background noise to me. How do yall's brains work?

Look me in the eye right now. Read this book. N.K. Jemisin puts on a masterclass in writing and worldbuilding in The Fifth Season. While I'm often not a fan of the style of storytelling in this book, Jemisin executed it perfectly. You will definitely have to trust the process at first, as details are revealed rather slowly, and you won't know exactly what the direction is at first. However, once you catch on (and you will), you won't be able to pick up your jaw off the floor.
Everything from the world-building to the pros to the characters is absolutely breathtaking in this book. There is a perfect balance between developing the characters and the plot; often, particularly in the fantasy genre, one will be focused on so much that the other receives no development, but this book has no such issue. Every aspect had significant depth, and clearly went through as many edits as it took to make it perfect.
Overall, this book is exceptional. If you are a fantasy fan, this is your next favorite read. However, as good as this book is, you should wait until you are in the mood to use a lot of brain power, as nothing is spoonfed to you, and you will have to put in a lot of mental work.
