I'm not ready to write a review yet. This book was a great way to start the year, though I will need five to seven business days to recover.

I have read multiple V.E. Schwab books in the past, and this may be controversial... but I didn't particularly like any of them 😬 BUT so far I am enjoying this one way more than I have the other books of hers I have read so I am hopeful!

”Hungry children eat anything you give them. An ounce of kindness. The most broken love. Even a crumb is enough when you are hungry. You take what is given and say thank you.”
She writes with the emotion of having lived it. Ugh, there’s so many lines that hit so hard and I have to sit here and absorb them before I can continue. It truly resonates and breaks my heart at the same time
