As with The Secret History, I feel like this book will forever linger in my mind. It’s beautifully written, and even though Theo is a walking disaster you still care and root for him (though not his actions).
I might need to re-read the last chapter to understand the full picture (haha), as the writing brings forth many things to think about.
Only thing I didn’t quite vibe with was the pacing in certain areas with the time skip. Donna Tartt is an amazing writer and her prose had me going back to re-read parts to soak in all the descriptive artistry.

my username is my govt first name, and my whole life I've gotten Tolkien-heads thinking my parents named me after Arwen from LoTR, so I resisted watching the films or reading the books until now. I'm a HUGE reader and talking to a guy right now who loves the books, so I thought I'd finally at least give them a fair shot! I dropped a class in college on Tolkien but the only book of his we had to read was the Silmarillion (it was a class for Tolkien-heads who had seen the films or read the books already). ANYWAY, I'm the last person to read a book for a man, BUT I am a wide reader, so I figure I'll give it a fair shot. Should I start with the Hobbit? I don't even know the title of the first book! Give me advice. Full disclosure, it's also not really my preferred genre, BUT I will always give everything a fair shot.
