Hello! I’m looking for fantasy / fiction book recs with stories that have shield maidens or female warriors as main or important characters. I’m partially interested in books with Norse or Viking vibes but if you have any other suggestions outside of this I’d still love to hear them!

What is your opinion on reading multiple books at once??

As someone who is literally reading about 6 at once right now, I'm curious on everyone else's opinions 🤔

I was thinking the other day, and while I understand the word is fitting, but the word "bookish" alone to me just hits my ears wrong. Same with the titles BookTube and Bookstagram...BookTok not so much because at least Tik ends with a K. I know it's dumb, but I need to speak my truth.

What is something, anything book-related (see what I didn't say there?) that is completely normal but for no reason gets you? No judgements today, there are no wrong answers.

Good morning everyone (or whatever time of day it is where you are) 🌞 I was setting up for my morning writing session, and I thought of making a post to get to know other writers here on PB.

Do any of you write, as a hobby or professionally? What kind of stories, poetry, etc. do you write, and in what language(s)? Are you currently working on anything specific? Tell us a bit about yourself, and let's get to know each other! Feel free to also link any profiles where you post your writing or any of your publications.

I've always written for fun ever since I was a kid, and I would love to get published someday, but it's hard to find the time to work on longer projects as an adult! I write mostly in Spanish, and mostly sci-fi and horror, although I don't limit myself when it comes to genre and also like to write poetry here and there.

I don't post my writing anywhere, and I only share it with classmates when I occasionally take a writing course for fun, mostly because most online writing spaces I know are in English and I don't have the energy to keep up a blog 😅 Maybe I'll take some inspiration from everyone's replies 🫶

My short-term goal is to start participating in writing contests to get over the awkward feeling that comes from sharing my writing, and to see if I'd be able to make a little bit of money from writing 🤞 My medium-term goal is to finish a sci-fi novel I'm working on that examines themes of community, survival, and finding meaning in just sharing a life with each other when our world falls apart.
