I was looking into getting the audiobook of ‘The Princess Bride’ and saw the only copy is abridged. Why do people want shorter versions of the books they wanna read?? Or is it a popular opinion that abridged versions are meh.
I’m sad that there isn’t a full version of The Princess Bride 💔 although it’s interesting that the director of the movie adaption voices the abridged version. I personally think all audiobooks should be the full text, imagine buying a smaller version of a physical book with parts left out! It doesn’t make sense to me personally.

I ordered a Boox Color Go 7 II (or whatever it's called). It should be here in a couple of days. 🥰
I really like my Colorsoft and Paperwhite, but I am trying to expand away from amazon. I have been buying Nook books - their devices are not my favorite, but I like the mobile app. I have some Kobo purchases, and I even bought one on Bookshop (will buy more there in the future, probably, depending on how this device works out). And I like e-ink too much to be locked into just my iPhone or to buy an iPad for books.
So we'll see. I'll get all my apps in one device and still be able to read on e-ink (and color for the comics). Anyone else gone down this road? I am excited.
Or have a made a terrible mistake? 😳

What about you guys? It could be from any genre 🙌 What combo or book setting do you love to read? For me It would be Slow Burn and Emotional Angst. The combination is an absolute chef kiss for me. 90% of the time delivers a banger.

Y'all I won a giveaway for a physical copy of an ARC I read and so freaking excited! I've been lucky enough to have won a few different bookish giveaways and have a great time joining them.
Do you participate in any bookish giveaways? Have you won any?
Oh, also if you do participate in any giveaways what's something that would make you not want to participate? I was thinking about this early today when joining a giveaway, I noticed I don't really join ones that you have to tag multiple people. Lol I don't have that many bookish friends and don't want to keep spamming them!💀😂

Book bans seem to be everywhere in the USA right now, starting within the public school system and now spreading to public libraries. I just finished watching the documentary The Librarians on PBS’ YouTube channel (highly recommend) and it really got me thinking about librarians putting themselves on the front lines these days (risking getting charged with felonies) in order to protect our communities and our access to knowledge.
I was wondering if anyone here has been specifically affected by book bans in their communities? Or have your children been affected? And those who live in other countries than the USA, do your librarians & schools face the same battles? Has anyone gone to their local school board meetings to hear these issues being discussed or to speak yourself? Or what are your thoughts on them in general?? I’m curious to hear your thoughts and stories!
