UGHHHHH the amount of times I gasped and uttered "biiiiitch" through the last three chapters is insurmountable!
I mean excuse me, ma'am?? To be in this girls head and know that she genuinely doesn't see herself as a villain is throwing me. Every thought is filtered through insecurity, bitterness, resentment, ambition and this desperate need for justification. It's so damn uncomfortable and infuriating.
Also the sharpness of the satire is SO good. All of the conversations around publishing, branding, marketability and what's "important" and "accessible" is making me irate.
I feel like I'm hate-reading and fully lokced in at the same time. Send help!

“…we listened to the breeze which always whispered the same soft note. Apart from Rose’s powerful soprano, it was the only music I’d ever heard. “
This book is the antithesis of Lord of the Flies.
