Yayyy! I’m so excited to join in on this quest. Cowboy/Western Romance has been my go to cozy, cute, pallet cleanser reads lately. The Chestnut Springs series had me going to my nearest boot barn and buying a pair of real cowgirl boots and wranglers.🤭

I'm obsessed with Maria already and am interested in seeing how she forges her destiny going forward. I doubt she bends or breaks.

okay so I read literally just a chapter and I think this will get me out of my reading slump, I'm already loving the characters and writing style also, it's my first schwab book, I'm so exited!!

📚Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil

    It gave:
 • gothic atmosphere
• slow‑burning tangled timelines
 • morally gray vampires
• love grief & obsession stretched across centuries
 • poetic aching prose that cuts deep

. This was my first V.E. Schwab book recommended by @edensarchivess and she did not miss with this one.

I’m a werewolf or vampire, pick your fighter type of gal and this one bit straight into my chest and stayed there.🧛🏻‍♀️

I actually listened to the audiobook on Audible and loved it. The full‑cast performance by Julia Whelan, Katie Leung, and Marisa Calin brought out each character’s voice with beautiful accents that made the story feel cinematic, like I was watching it unfold in front of me.

I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did but V.E. Schwab absolutely snapped. Told across three timelines, every thread finds its way back to the others in a way that’s eerie and so, so satisfying.

Each character is carrying centuries of grief longing or vengeance and you feel it. The pacing is slow but intentional. The kind of slow that lingers. And the ending? Let’s just say it embodies everything Schwab was trying to say about how time can change you. Warp you. Rot you…. and even redeem you.

If you love a good vampire book with gothic bones, aching hearts and a touch of tragedy this one’s for you. 🖤🩸🌕 5/5⭐️
