When I was 16 I had to read Forrest Gump for school, and instead of giving us a copy of the book, we got a google document. I always thought I didn't read it through because I was in a deep depressive state, and didn't do much of anything.. but I remember enjoying the parts of the book i did read!
Now i am reading a Dnd rulebook and a campaign.. and tho the 2nd one is only 60 something pages, I am struggling. My eye is twitching, this feels like such a heavy task. Maybe this is also why I no longer read fanfic the way I did as a teen.
The size doesn't seem to be the issue, zooming in just makes everything worse.

This is such a specific nitpick but the musical notation on the cover is all donked up 😭 Like why does the staff only have 4 lines? Why are the stems… like that? Is this how nurses feel when they read a bunch of inaccurate medical stuff in a book?!

I was just looking through a magazine when I saw an ad for a bookplate stamp. Very fancy looking with an ornate design and a place to sign your name. My whole body cringed up. I could not even imagine ever doing that to my books. Stamping them or putting a sticker bookplate in (unless the sticker is signed by the author). Defacing my book in anyway hurts my brain to even think about. Even when I read my books I try really hard not to break the spine. I know this is a me thing (although I suspect that it is a you thing for quite a few people).
Does anyone stamp or put bookplates in their books? Is there a particular reason that makes you do this?
Does anyone else have a book thing that makes them cringe when you see other people do it?
Just so everyone is clear….I am not judging. This really is a me thing. People can do whatever they want to their books. I am just curious. Bookstamps wouldn’t exist if people were not buying them. So I know that probably quite a few people love to do this.

I have tried only a handful of audiobooks, but for some reason I just can't get into them. I think the narrator is fine, but there is this odd quietness that surrounds me whenever I listen. It is too quiet!! I understand they are in a booth and noise canceling is a thing, but I just cannot get over it 😭😭 does anyone else feel the same or have a similar experience?
I think the only one I was really fine with listening was the Ali Hazelwood's Two Can Play, but I think that was a special case because it did not have a physical book at the time...

Are audio books worth it? I heard a lot of examples on tiktok and they sound actually halarious like if i wanted to read and listen or just listen while i do chores but do they cost money? If so are they worth the amount?

The beginning of this audiobook has me questioning my ability to understand English😆

So I’ve been trying to get into audiobooks and I wanted to know if anyone knows any good audiobook apps. I’m currently using audible and with audible I hate that I have to have credits to listen to a book and can only use that credit to listen to a “free” book so if anyone knows any other app recommendations please let me know. Thank you so much!!!!!🥰🤍

Really excited to read this. Wanted to read Dracula before reading this but just haven’t had the opportunity. Do you think some of the context will be loss without having read the source material?

An introduction to the Fantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
