Smilepal's Book Journey

As Gordon Ramsay said, "Finally some good fucking food." Seriously though, this was a fabulous read, and I can't wait to get the sequels. Bonus points for also having a killer audiobook! I'd been looking for a dense, satisfying fantasy novel, and this did NOT disappoint. The writing style hooked me from page one, and the inspiration and casual queerness of the world was lovely to see. Don't get me wrong, I love some good Irish spirits or Norse gods, but it's been done so much (sometimes not very well), and this was such a balm. I loved seeing the progression of the relationships between the characters, and even Naranpa had gotten my attention by the end. There were a couple spots that I could've done with faster pacing, especially towards the beginning/early-middle of the book, but that's more of a personal preference, and I'd still recommend this one to any fantasy fan, especially if you are looking for a series.
