Graveyard Shift is a short and overall satisfying read. I definitely agree that more can be done with the story, but I feel that the shortness of it contributes to the punch-in-the-gut ending. It's intriguing and keeps you hooked.

Perhaps Alice Law and Peter Murdoch did go to hell for the wrong reasons, but they surely cams back to the surface for the right ones. They found themselves once more, and they found companionship and love. Hell is being and not realising how truly wonderful the world around you can be. Hell is losing yourself. It takes a long time to find yourself, but when you do it is unlike any joy you have every known.

I'm quite far into the book but I'm still not sure which map to refer to. Did I miss when it was confirmed in the book which of the maps were right? I've been referring to peter's so far but it feels inconsistent with some parts of the story
