Romantasy and hockey lover. Looking to make friends and meet new people. Would anyone love to join me in a book club discord/on here. We don't have to read the same book just encouragement.

  • Are you an adult who still occasionally reads kids books?

I’m 33 and childless. Some of the most influential books I’ve read have been targeted towards a young audience. There are lessons to be learned in these books that adults may have missed when they were growing up.

Mostly I see 12-18 year olds against reading below their reading level, but occasionally I see the odd adult. If that’s you, Why are you against including books below your reading level in your TBR?

Just incase there is any confusion or misunderstanding, I am not talking about reading books to make sure they are ā€œappropriateā€ for your kids. I am not saying to exclusively read below your reading level, I am not saying to dumb yourself down. I personally think it is crucial to read a bit of everything in order to have informed opinions, confidence, compassion, and empathy for all.

If you are in the same camp as me, explain why and what your recent favorites are. Last year I read Impossible Creatures by Katherine Rundell, and I’m excited to continue the series!

    Story of My Life

    Story of My Life

    Lucy Score

Hazel is given a one-two punch when she's forced to move out of her Upper East Side apartment and is given a final warning from her publisher. If she doesn't turn in a book by her next deadline, they're cutting her loose. Hazel rashly decides to leave what's left of her city life behind and impulse buys a house in rural Pennsylvania sight unseen. How better to entertain the loyal readers she still has and rediscover her writing mojo than immersing herself in small-town life? Too bad this town looks to be on its last legs. At least she's finding swoon-worthy inspiration from her hot, grumpy contractor Cam and his animal-rescuing, community-involved family. It's all just research. What could go wrong? A note from the author: This series is my love letter to every reader who said they wanted to move to a fictional town . . .
