“Because people weren’t merely lovely. They were also broken. The world didn’t produce unbroken people.”
This was a fun cozy mystery with an eclectic cast and a found family aspect. It was funny and held my attention well.

Jamie for a lot of this book:
The pacing is quick and the twists were satisfying, plus I always enjoy a genre-savvy protagonist. I gave up on ever truly understanding the club layout and I found the motive reveal a bit thin but I had a good time going along for the ride!

A fun mix of horror and romance and comedy that held my attention the entire time. Action packed and fast paced (it’s quite long but reads quickly). The characters were great and I especially loved Jamie and Laurie’s relationship 💕
The audiobook is well done. The book is single POV following FMC Jamie, but the audio has two voice actors: a female narrator for prose and the women’s dialogue and a male narrator for the men’s dialogue. There are also some sound effects throughout. I will say that the male narrator was hard to understand at times. His low pitch and raspy voice already makes it hard to listen at faster speeds, but sometimes even slowed down it sounds mumbled. I could have listened to the female narrator on 2x speed or faster, but I mostly did 1.5x speed and would frequently slow it down on Wes’s dialogue.
