Absolutely remarkable book. For me a fantastic story, but more than that an incredible insight into the history of Hong Kong. I’m amazed that I feel I’ve learned so much interspersed with this amazing supernatural story. A book I will cherish and think about for years to come.

Too long by far - a good 200-250 pages of nothing happening. The ending saved it.

This is so frustrating and boring. Why do authors do this especially with Romantasy where they feel the need to completely remove all of the interesting aspects from the story in book 2, and give you an empty shell? Worse still in this book we are dropped into a new POV with very little time for us to care at all about that story. Sure I can guess where it may be going but does it need to take up half the book?
