For 2026 I am determined to slow down and read more mindfully. As a part of this I would like to start annotating some of my books... but outside of my (admittedly English Lit) degree I have never done it before. Do any of you annotate for fun? Any tips and tricks gratefully appreciated!

I'd like to be a bit more conservative with my book-buying in 2026 so I'm striving to read more than 50% library books of my total reading this year.
For some context, from my complete Finished library here on PB, 44% were borrowed and I spent money on 50% (this is possible because if I didn't remember if I bought or borrowed it, I didn't mark it. Also, I both bought and borrowed some books, either at different times, or different formats at the same time).
In 2025, only 14% were borrowed. I want to support my public library and my wallet. I'm also considering keeping track of how much money I save this year by reading library books. I'm a little scared to see what that dollar amount could be when I think of my 2025 reading, but excited to see how much I can save going forward!

Hi everyone! Now that we are close to the new year, I want to know your favourite books of the year! So I know it is a hard question, and I struggled a lot😅 I personally couldn’t choose one, so I split them up in the genres I read the most.
Here is my list!
Fantasy: 🧚♀️The cruel prince🧚♀️ Romace: 🩷Binding 13🩷 Thriller: 🩸As good as dead🩸
Last thing I want to say is just that I wish you all a happy new year!🎆✨

hi everyone!! i’ve been thinking the past few days about what books i want to read in 2026, and my overall reading goal. i was wondering, for those of you who read a lot (for context, i only read 21 books this year, way fewer than many of you) do you try to read a certain amount every day/week?
i’m wondering if having a weekly reading goal for myself might help with keeping it up. say, having a goal of reading at least 4 days a week, with one of those days being a reading session that’s longer than 45 minutes or so. just curious if any of you have structured yourself in a way like this to avoid falling behind but also not getting burnt out!! thank you so much in advance 🫶🫶

Whether you love to hate or hate to love 'em, these literary bad girls are anything but well-behaved. *Disclaimer: we do not literally support the illegal and oft cruel behavior of these protagonists (usually); we support the authors bold enough to write them (always).
