Let's start by saying that this book has got his issues,but it made me so happy reading it that I can deal. 700 pages for a romance are a lot(although no one will ever hear me saying that romance can only be 300~< pages long),yet not a single one of them was wasted. The plot and the romance enhanced,rather than shadowed, each other; They were very well balanced. So were the developments and characterization of characters,which def isn't easy when there's so many of them. There were lots of side characters but they were different, interesting and charming. Also,Tom and Phoenix actually communicated to overcome their difficulties instead of subjugating me to 3rd act break-up(thank God for this,I hate 3rd act break up so bad). Also,all the drama came from external factors instead of dumb miscommunication. Also,I didn't read the first book in the series but I had no problem figuring out characters,past situations and dynamics(which is kind of amazing in such content-rich stories) ...moving to my issues with this book: -Almost everyone's got blue eyes(to some degree) and the authors make sure the reader knows it. I swear every time a pair of eyes was mentioned,they needed to remind me of their fucking color. I was about to go mad. -This is dumb,but...until the ¾ of this the verb "fisting" was used in relation to so many different things that it genuinely bothered me. Fisting their shirt,their hair, their dicks...I was honestly worried I was about to witness another kind of fisting. No ok, this may seem silly but that's just because I don't remember the weirdest instances. -Edgy af. Not even going to sugar coat this: second hand embarrassment, awkwardness,cringing are ON the table for this one and somehow it works out(So,yey I guess?) -I don't like being made to sympathize with freaking billionaires. Genuinely,fuck the rich. And honestly,I highly doubt that someone as rich as Tom would have ever had to worry that much about his dream,no matter how much the authors try to convince me of it. He was still my favorite in the book,but that doesn't mean I'm just going to accept this as something realistic. It's fiction,though so I can pretend that this bunch of rich,entitled people are nice. -The writing put me off at times and some dialogues were kind of weird/awkward/ confusing
