I loved this book!!! It was exceptionally well written and very well thought. I laughed out loud multiple times, it was such a fun and enjoyable read. I enjoyed almost everything about it except for 3 things.
First, Cecilia’s age, she is only 19, which is very young to fall in love and get married. Of course, it is historically accurate but at the same time, flying houses are not real, so why must we aim for total historical accuracy? Make her 22/23, still young but not an almost teenager at least. The love story, I enjoyed the characters but I didn’t really care for them. Cecilia’s age played a part in this and it icked me that she was so « young and naive ». I thought they were cute at the end of the book, but I was still not that convinced. The chapter’s names : I read the first one and that’s it. They were incredibly useless, just spoiling everything and kinda cringe imo.
Otherwise, great read, very very original, I can see why people would dislike it but I loved it! It’s as though Terry Pratchett wrote a book with Jane Austen in the world of Mary Poppins, will definitely read the other ones.

I had high hopes for this one. It started off REALLY great, the writing was very nice and the dialogues were written in such in a natural way that I was hooked! But it got boring so fast? There was no conflict and they were already locked in 40% in 😭 I mean they went from strangers to lovers in such a short amount of time, I could not believe they fell for each other. We did not read about them falling in love, getting to know each other, getting familiar with one another, it was like « we’re not in a relationship, we don’t know each other » and the next page « I want to be with him, I want him so bad » it was SO weird and quite unlikely. I’m not against unreal romance and people falling in love quickly but I need to believe that the characters are doing so, I need to read and understand it. That was just not the case here. The FMC is very inexperienced, only 21 and said the L word after knowing the guy for like 4 days, I don’t believe for a second that she is truly in love 😭
++ one of the characters kissed the FMC against her will as a joke and the MMC just laughed it off, I mean wtf?? ++ this weird thing about marriage and what being husband/wife means that was explained throughout the book made me a little uncomfortable.
Very disappointed

This was SO good and so much better than the first one!!! Bjorn is everything, I fell in love with his character. Astrid was amazing as well, I loved her so much. A few plot holes (like at the end of book 1, it is mentioned Bjorn’s mom is a human but she is a troll in this one) but honestly I didn’t really care. It was beautifully written, an amazing love story with complex characters, 11/10!!!
I look forward to the last one!
