Less angst than anticipated for vampire ware romance. Predictable plotting but likeable and moderately intellegent characters with a low simmer on sauciness throughout. Not a very creative work, but it does a great job pacing and avoiding my reader rage.

Heist + empire with some confusing character pairings and so much mistrust amongst each other. Uses supernatural to deal with colonialism, identity and morality are at the core of subtext.
For fellow listening readers this book was very hard to follow using audio only as - a solid 60% of the book is witty, but complicated group conversations. I normally do not have this problem, but I found myself drifting off into lala land quite a bit as a result.
