Grew up listening to this as an audio play, and loved it. But the book. It's so, so dark. But plays the darkness lightly. It's borderline optimistic in the way it describes the darkness as inevitable.

so tired of this "i'm not like other girls" narrative. clearly she wakes up to it at some point...but can it be even sooner?

A fantasy universe created by Sir Terry Pratchett, Discworld is a flat planet balanced on the backs of four elephants, which in turn stand on the back of a giant turtle. These are comedic novels that parody traditional fantasy tropes. All books can be read as standalones.

Not entirely sure what to think I feel the problem is probably me. The plot is fairly easy to deduce, but I feel in love with all the characters. Was I disappointed? No But at the same time, I feel I didn't get this book. It's lovely, but I didn't connect. At the same time, this feels like an absolute beast of a TV mini series

Oh, I love this. This book is just how the book itself describes eating figs. Sweet, sticky, deeply sensual

Gave this up. Reads like a romantasy, with the author spending ages creating dialogue that would make George Lucas cringe. This is probably great for some people, especially those that enjoy romantasy, but it wasn't for me

Seems to be building up some semblance of a story, but I very nearly quit this book after only five pages. Absolutely horrible writing, and historically wildly inaccurate referring to cities and countries that didn't exist at the time
