They Called Me a Lioness: A Palestinian Girl's Fight for Freedom
Ahed Tamimi
" I couldn’t hold back my laughter. The delirium I felt from the lack of sleep or food probably didn’t help the situation. Tears streamed down my face, and I could barely breathe.
“Why are you laughing?” my interrogator asked incredulously. “Is it illegal?” I replied. “You’re not allowed to laugh, so stop!”
A well-articulated memoir that tells the real story of a real Palestinian. The voice is a little young, but so is the author! It makes me want to read more about Palestine.

Absolutely! I think it would be a great early high school read- it would allow kids to understand more personally, rather than conceptually
