VeryTiredWoman commented on thehobbit's review of The Gilda Stories
As time passes this book deserves to be remembered as one of the classics. The dedication to retaining humanity even when faced with people who do not deserve it is Gilda’s legacy.
It was interesting to see what the author wrote of the future but for me the best part of this book was the glimpse into the past and the way Gilda wove through the time periods—to how she stayed the same and how she changed, and the people whose lives the touched.

What an utter delight this is!! Currently reading the Nick Bradley translation. Can’t wait to get my hands on volume two and three.

Finished volume 1!
If you are thinking about picking up this book, just know it is more about the foibles of human beings than anything to do with cats. Our cat narrator is quite astute when it comes to diagnosing humanities problems.

I sobbed in my car while listening to this. As a 24 year old wallflower who struggle with mental illness, this novel hit hard. I wish I had a Bill in my life at that age to tell me I was special.
The Afterword wrecked me. Everything can still turn out okay.
