Whether it's sci-fi or fantasy, you like a big series. You love when a book says 1 of 5/10/50+. Is the reading order of the series hotly debated? Is there a wiki chart to show how the books connect? Even better. Come spend some time in these worlds.

This was a lovely little heist story set in the late 1800's. It was light and quick to read. I enjoyed following Kit as she navigated a dangerous situation.
The story follows Kit, who is part of a ring of lady thieves. The leader of their ring is being forced to retire and the new woman in charge may not have the girl's best interests in mind.
I very much enjoyed this book, but I was left wanting at the end. I feel like the whole plot was too clean. There was very little conflict besides a few minor scrapes. I wanted Maggie to catch on to Kit's alternate dodge, I wanted Kit to nearly get caught during her heist. What I wanted was for Kit to be one step ahead of Maggie, not half a mile down the road.

I wanted to like this far more than I did. I had mixed feelings throughout the book, it was too slow for me, the back and forth timeline made it really hard to keep track of characters. The prose was filled with asides and tangents that made the story drag for me.
This made my head spin. The non linear narrative and the multitude of characters made it hard for me to keep track of what was going on. I felt like the story dragged on. It took so long to get into the main plot that I was no longer invested in the outcome.
Jasmin Walker was a fantastic narrator. I enjoyed listening to her voice tell me the story even if I wasn't enjoying the story.
