Fuck Coriolanus Snow. Honestly, what a well written character, he genuinely made my fucking skin crawl. Every “good” action had this underlying, selfish motive that just made him so pathetic (and not in the good way). Lucy Gray should have gutted him.
A really great prequel. Seeing the Games as they began compared to what we are introduced to in the original trilogy is fascinating. And seeing how slimy, privileged, arrogant asshole became the dictator he did made me grit my teeth, very well done.

Definitely a product of its time in places but truthfully, a lot of the issues are timeless.
As someone who struggles with their weight and eating behaviours I found this refreshingly empathetic. There was so much practical advice alongside the theories being presented as well which I really appreciated and enjoyed as so often I find that these sort of non-fiction books go one way or another, this felt very balanced.
