I like my castles cold, my moors windswept, and my heroines swooning.

Hey everyone ✨
I’m a huge reader, and fantasy is without a doubt my go-to genre. There’s nothing I love more than breathtaking landscapes, dragons, that Dungeons & Dragons vibe, romance, and chivalry... It feels like sitting by the fire in the dead of winter, listening to a storyteller spin ancient legends. Whether it’s romantasy, high fantasy, gothic, or cozy fantasy, that’s my ultimate comfort zone.
However, for 2026, I’m challenging myself to explore new horizons! My partner is a big fan of weird and eerie fiction (he loves Lovecraft) and sci-fi, which has sparked my curiosity. I’ve already dipped my toes into Asimov’s robot stories—which I enjoyed—and Foundation (though I struggled with that one a bit). I even tried Dune, but I’ll admit, it’s pretty intimidating!
I often find that the sci-fi I’ve picked up feels a bit "synthetic" or cold... I struggle to connect with the characters or feel any real emotion. I miss that touch of wonder and, above all, the deep character development that makes me want to follow their journey. So, I’d love to hear your recommendations for a sci-fi beginner! Do you have a book that truly moved you, made you fall in love with the genre, or gave you goosebumps? 🔭✨🪐
