I hate it when these dystopian near-future novels hit so close to home!

As a mother raising my son in a big city I felt for May and her struggles and anxiety. Been there, doing that 😅

The book was close to being great, but a couple of things didn't work for me. I felt that the start was a bit rushed, like we needed more context before going to the Botanical Garden. (I did loooove that whole part) And the ending was very dreamlike and in a completely different tone than the rest of the book. I guess you could argue that it's an open ending, but my impression is that it lessened the impact of the book.
