I love a murder mystery, why not solve two?

it was a lot of fun, the characters were good while stereotypical, but it was written in the 1980s. I listened to the audiobook, so I know there were some complaints about the constant repetition of names however considering I wasn't looking at them and that made them harder to differentiate I preferred that they were repeated often. I loved the back and forth perspective it added a really fun touch. It kept us guessing while giving us enough information to figure out what was going on. that's also a really cool way to make it a series without the focus being away from the murder mystery part

and for context I am just stingy with my five stars and Ellery was my boy

I'm very glad I stuck with this book, the first half is very slow, I'm definitely learning I'm more of a plot driven girlie. I didn't find the characters very compelling in the beginning or at all in a way. I listened to the audiobook, but it seemed to be very well written. I think it was a very good story. But there is also little character development, which I don't think helped me feel interested in the characters, and most of the plot I didn't find that interesting. I can imagine that the adaptation helped a lot though. it seems like a very good story to be adapted into a miniseries.
