I believe somebody else pointed it out in this forum, but I have been wondering if Ford is about Henry Ford or Freud. I’m moving forward and leaning toward Freud, especially since there’s so much focus on the negativities of human connection and families outside the “ideal creation”.

I am both deeply confused and intrigued by this concept and writing style thus far. I feel like every single time I read something that makes me say “hey. What’s that about?” We change topics.

these books have mature themes but I am incredibly grateful to my AP lit teacher for having us read them back in high school

Koushun Takami’s “Battle Royale” is a staple of literature.
This entire book had me captivated from the moment I picked it up. There were twists and surprises that caught me off guard, and every single time I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was proven wrong. This is a book that needs to be taught in classes, and I’d love to be part of a curriculum that taught it. Despite being written over 25 years ago, many core concepts of the book remain relevant to today.
For a book as influential as this one, I found it incredibly hard to find a physical copy of. No library or bookstore near me carried it, and after a few months of looking I was able to find a pdf that I could read on my Kobo. I wish more people were able to read and understand this book, as it has quickly climbed its way to being one of my top 5 books.
