to partially celebrate national read a book day, a friend and i visited a branch of our city's library to "book shop" and go a little crazy checking out books to read for the month. as i was checking out, i decided on a whim to print a reciept and saw at the bottom that my library tracks how much money you've saved by checking out books through them instead of buying them, and that apparently so far this year i've saved $521.74! i just thought this was so cool and was wondering if anyone else's library does this, and if so, how much money have you "saved"?

I'm nothing if not someone who spreads propoganda about my favourite books. So without further adieu... I will try to convince you to read SOME of my favourite books using my favourite quotes from the books. Since I don't want to unnecessarily spoil anyone, I've placed the quotes under spoiler tags. None of the quotes give away anything about the core plot and plot twists (I promise) but better to be safe than sorry haha.
He shakes his head. “I was ready to fight for us,” he says. “But you just let me go. The funny thing is, I loved you because you were brilliant and tough and I knew that one day you were probably going to be a senator or something because you set your mind and heart on everything you wanted to do. I loved your ambition and drive. I loved how you never backed down from anything, and I thought that would extend to me too. I believed it, all the way to the end.”
“I know. If I could go back in time and do it again, I would’ve chosen differently. I would’ve put on my shoes and walked out the door. I would’ve gone to your house for prom, spent time with your mom. Had dinner. Taken pictures. Tried to make her like me. I would’ve gone to prom with you. I would’ve held your hand, brought you home, introduced you to Mama instead of hiding you. I wish I could’ve.”
