I liked it but didn’t love it and has all of the makings of all the popular Romantasy books but just didn’t hit hard for me and felt tropey for the sake of tropes. A little TOO predictable for me. That being said, I do think I’ll read book 2!
Minor spoiler: What I disliked the most was how obviously we knew who she’d end up with and we had to suffer through (not great) spicy scenes with a man who gave me the ick from the start!!

4.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed this book and am excited for this trilogy!! Lots of characters and relationships and growth throughout the book and loved how we spent so much time with every character. I was hooked from the beginning.
Story takes place right after the nuclear war (felt very post WW3 to me 😩) and brought up a lot of the aftermath of the war. Themes were a bit darker than Conform and I felt our FMCs struggles deeply.
Not a ton of crossover with Conform yet but I’m so excited to see them merge. I didn’t think I’d like the prequel before conform book 2 but dare I say I liked this one better!?
Audio was fantastic - Brittany Pressley will be a new go to for me!
Thanks to NetGalley AND LibroFM for the arc & alc.
