I love everything Kennedy Ryan writes but I think this one might be my favorite. There is so much love written into this story as well as a deep appreciation for and shining light on Black artists. I love that we get 2 stories in one like we do with Reel.

This book focused on life living with debilitating bipolar disorder. It was absolutely devastating and moving.

I cried so much and I also laughed and kicked my feet. there is also NO LACK of spice 👏

I loved everything about this book.

I loved everything about this book - such a good love story while also being so sad focusing on grief and trauma and finding yourself after the loss of a best friend.

When I tell you that I was SOBBING by the end 😭 so good! I do think the end and epilogue hits harder if you read the other two Spunes novels first.

If you liked Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone or Breathe with Me by Becka Mack - I think you’ll really like this book

    Convince me PLEASE

I’ve heard SO many good things about this series..everyone seems to love the characters and the world. But I read like 3 chapters and genuinely could NOT get into the writing style 😭. Especially after just finishing the TOG series and When the Moon Hatched, it felt so dull to me in comparison.

PLEASE convince me to keep reading or tell me I’m not missing out on anything 😭 I don’t want to miss out on an amazing series, but I need to know if it’s actually worth giving another shot!!

And is the audiobook a good alternative if I can’t get into it?

EDIT: thank you all for the comments lol i’ve decided i’m going to listen to the audiobook with zero expectations and if it’s so garbage i can’t stomach it ill just dnf it 😂

I really did enjoy the story and the magic in this book and will probably read the next book. For the first 75% the focus was on the coven and their mission and I think that was the best part!

Unfortunately, the romance wasn’t my favorite. For as long as this book is, there wasn’t much development in the relationships and even still it felt like it went from 0 to 100.

If you enjoy Emily Rath’s other books, you’ll probably enjoy this one.
