This was my first friends to lovers romance books and it turns out I do enjoy the trope. BUT damn guys y’all couldn’t have confessed your feelings for each other sooner? I refuse to not tell someone that I have feelings for them. So I can’t believe that it took them 12 years to do so.

Anyways. Both, Alex and Poppy, are so funny and so full of personality in their own unique way where Poppy is the loud one and Alex is the more quiet one. I am quite jealous of Poppy’s original job and I can’t believe that she left it but I also understand of wanting to connect to people and their stories on a close personal relationship. Alex is a simple man who knows what he wants despite not being able to properly communicate it. Their tension with each other was quite addicting with their will they won’t they moments.

Talk about an AWFUL time to go to Palm Springs together though! Summer in California is a hard one to deal with if you’re not from here but spending it in Palm Springs is like asking for a death wish. I don’t know how they lasted so long in that awful apartment for so long. ☀️

This was a fun read that you should definitely read in the summer but I wanted to read it before the movie comes out. 🤭
