Not another pandemic story!! This book follows Blue Velour (a complete fictionalized caricature of Lana Del Rey), Sasha (her lesbian producer), and Rose (a superfan who runs a “Gaylor” style subreddit and gets hired to be Blue’s assistant). As a diehard Lana fan myself I expect to love this book… it was wild and crazy and a fun read but I’m already so tired of pandemic stories… yes, it is purposeful to the plot but the quarantine section seemed to go on for a bit too long. I did enjoy the book for the most part. She really created an almost magical world with these characters. Very fun and almost campy in a way. The twist was nuts! Not expected at all!! This was my first Anna Dorn, I really like her writing and am still very interested in checking out more from her.
Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for this ARC

What are some books you guys have read multiple times? And why? I would say that I've probably only reread about 5-10 books in my entire life, I usually never feel like it because I'd rather spend that time reading a new book. Even though almost every reread would be pretty beneficial since I usually forget most of a book if it wasn't life changing 😂😂

Forced into unending sleep or perilous insomnia, repeating tedious daily routines until your body rots, watching as your skin starts to glow or your hands sprout scales—these novels feature illnesses that are far from typical.

I'm curious about how many people on here use NetGalley too and for how long/ their feedback ratios/how often they get declined/luck with authors. If you get ARCs elsewhere, drop that in too!
I'll go first. I've been a user since 2021 with 583 titles approved till date and 138 declined. My feedback ratio stands at 95% and I'm proud of it 💪. For some reason lately I haven't been getting emails when I get declined a title, so I have to go into the website and check. I've never been auto approved by a publisher, but I do get emails from agents sometimes offering me "Read It" of e-ARCS. Aaand the only publisher that's never approved a single request of mine is Berkely. At this point I'm convinced they have me on a blacklist (though I wouldn't know why) and I've long since given up sending them requests.
