If you're going to use toilet humor (no shade) and slick banter, don't make your readers need a goddamn dictionary every other page. It's pretentious android boring. DNF 51%

It started with potential. That potential died quickly.

English isn’t my first language (not even my second) and I’m used to encountering unfamiliar words. That’s not the issue. The issue is when the prose becomes so unnecessarily bloated and self-indulgent that you’re fighting the vocabulary instead of enjoying the story. Page after page, it felt like work.

The characters? Insufferable. Not complex. Not morally gray. Just deeply unlikeable and impossible to root for. I didn’t care what happened to them, which is a problem when the entire book hinges on their dynamic.

The plot drags, circles itself, and somehow manages to feel both chaotic and boring at the same time. Nothing meaningful develops.

And the humor? Embarrassing. Endless, juvenile, try-hard sexual jokes repeated to the point of absurdity. Shock value isn’t wit. Repetition isn’t comedy. Saying the same crude word fifteen times doesn’t make it edgy. It makes it exhausting. It felt like it was written by someone who just discovered swear words and refused to let them go.

The brothel scene was the cherry on top. Random, unnecessary, and adding absolutely nothing except secondhand embarrassment.

If I had known this started as fanfiction, I would have saved myself the time. This reads exactly like that, unedited indulgence that should’ve stayed online.

    Hard pass.
