I feel for Ruth so much in this moment. I too lost track of the timeline and felt the same sense of urgency as Ruth. It wasn’t until Nao mentioned 9/11 that I realized Nao’s story took place a while ago. The author did a fantastic job of writing it so that we experienced Nao’s diary in the same way Ruth is experiencing it.

I am really loving this book.
