I reread this maybe once every couple years and it wins me over every time (so much so that I have a tattoo for it 🤭)

I don't know how it didn't click until right now... But I LOVED Red Rising and this is Red Rising with magic. For clarity this is a huge compliment, Red Rising is one of my favorite trilogies (the og was a trilogy) of all time. This book was just as good if not a bit better than Red Rising, mostly because the prose is just more developed from James vs Pierce since Red Rising was his first book. If you loved Red Rising this is for you, if you loved The Will of The Many and haven't read Red Rising, I highly suggest it.

i've had mixed opinions as to whether i want to read this or not, but love all 3 books in the community recs (Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren; Book Lovers by Emily Henry; and The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston), so trying to decide if i should keep this on my TBR or not

does the pace pick up on this at all? I’m having such a hard/slow time getting into it
