I have no idea why, but the whimsy is really grating on me in this book, which is unfortunately what I loved so much about the first two. I can't sense where the story is going or what they are building to, if anything.

I don't think high-school-me gave Bronte enough credit for her ability to craft unique character voices.
Because good heavens am I having to drag my patience to hell and back to get through Lockwood's sections, but Nelly's are a breeze.

As we near 2026 I'm curious as to what reading challenges others are looking at doing! Are you going to attempt a read around the world? or an ABC challenge? Or do you have a personal goal?
My personal goal is to prioritize finishing my paused books over reading new ones. And, I want to challenge myself to read at least one nonfiction a month!
