As this is my first reread since I first read the books in 2021, this was a really emotional experience. Getting back into the world and seeing the characters I missed so much was really magical. Back then it was my first time reading in English, which is why I didnât understand much, but was intrigued enough to keep going. One could say I improved my reading skills as Sarah improved her writing skills. Either way, the foreshadowing I now was able to catch on to, was truly amazing!! Whoever is still thinking about reading this series or not: trust me, it is so worth it!! I canât wait to continue my reread and experience all the pain and joy again.

I listened to this as an audiobook while being more or less distracted at the same time. The story and writing style were good and at times captivating. There were some things about the realms that confused me or I didnât really understand (connected to me not paying 100% attention), but either way I really enjoyed reading it and would definitely pick up another book from the author! I didnât really feel much emotional connection to the characters or world, but it was a nice audiobook to listen to every now and then!

Time to catch up on my review: I really really enjoyed this book?! It was high fantasy with a tad of romance experience, but totally just on the side and I enjoyed it so much, that this was more about fantasy and politics and world building. I had so much fun getting into this world and embracing all the different POVs that yet connected together really well. As there are 6 books, I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Tavi is a really smart and interesting character that I hope we can see even more of!! The writing style was also really amazing. And having little magic companions? So adorable. Someone said they are like PokĂŠmon and I can definitely see that!! It makes the magic system accessible and also includes an emotional side to it. Really an amazing book!

I donât know what I expected, but it certainly wasnât this. A friend recommended the book to me, so I decided to pick it up and dive into a completely new genre for me. Yeah, completely new genre for sure, where do I even place that? I honestly do not know. But, this was an amazing read. Not amazing in a way I would usually use the word, but really well written, intriguing, captivating and also⌠creeping me out. It made me think about a lot, especially society and relationship dynamics. I canât quite place my finger on it, but this kind of book is something I have never experienced before. I should definitely read more books from different genres to explore more possibilities.
