Trading a castle for a pawn...

The Magician of Tiger Castle is very likely my favorite book I've read this year and definitely my favorite release of this year!

It's one of those books that the moment you put it down you just cannot stop thinking about it!

If you're looking for a book that gives you the same vibes as the princess bride but feels new and exciting, this is the book for you!!

It's filled with adventure, romance, schemes, and Louis Sachar's brilliant humor!

I will be recommending this book to everyone and anyone I can, I truly believe it has something for everyone!!

What an absolutely stunning novel!

This was my first Katherine Arden book but I can see why she's become such a paragon of fantasy! The language and writing is so beautiful, but still easy to understand!

The characters in this book are so full and well written. I knew little-to-nothing of Anne of Brittany before reading this, but this book has made me want to learn more. I really really loved the relationships between the characters and specifically Anne's family. I loved that Anne and her siblings truly loved each other. I think Elesbed was definitely my favorite character, I loved her's and Isabeau's relationship and I especially loved Butter!

I would have liked to see more of an ending for Elesbed and Isabeau, but other than that I have nothing but praise for this book. I think that everything got tied up very nicely and in a very satisfying manner.

I also loved the fantasy elements brought into this historical figure's life! I loved the meshing of magic and history! I'm not a huge history person, but I guess with enough magic and fantasy added in, I can be!

If you are looking for an exciting fantasy book, this is a great one! It has magic, political intrigue, schemes, strong, witty women, and a touch of romance!

This is such a beautiful and important book! I'm not usually a non-fiction girlie but as today is the "250th anniversary of america" (quotations because it's a stupid and incorrect statement), I felt the need to read something both anti-capitalist and by an indigenous author. This was such a perfect read for today.

I am so grateful I was lucky enough to be raised with this mindset and these ideals. Reading this felt like gaining a deeper understanding of what I already hold as an ideal. I think everyone needs to read this book, this is instantly a favorite!
