Wilson: ”Calypso, a great goddess, had trapped him in her cave; she wanted him to be her husband.”
Right off the bat some major tone differences! F’s is very mythical, while W tells it like it is — she wants him so she trapped him.
Which do y’all prefer?

Ooh I am a translation nerd, I love this!!! I read the Wilson translation myself, since I heard she brought some new (and more accurate?) translations as a female translator, but I gotta say I like the rhythm and wording of Fagles here
