I have to say that this was a really good book as long as you are going into it expecting it to be a little cringe. It was named Fan Service for a reason- this book is speaking directly to the souls of people who spent their preteens reading x reader fanfic under their blanket instead of sleeping. Itâs a light hearted and fun read that is an exceptional pick if youâre looking for something before/after you read something heavier.

Emily Henry does it for me every single time. Funny Story is easily one of my favorites of hers. I love Miles and Daphne as characters. Daphne slowly opening up to others and making choices that felt out of her comfort zone as she comes to the realization that people are able to change and Miles overcoming his issues by focusing on what he wants and not what other people have made him feel like he deserved. Also, the fact that the Peter and Petra situation was what caused them to first grow closer but it was unique in the way that they never hid the fact that they werenât actually dating from anyone except them. Most times when you hear fake dating in books you think of the very cliched, cookie cutter storyline but this differed in so many ways that it didnât feel like any part of their relationship was ever forced or contingent on the fake dating. It was refreshing and felt more true to their characters.
