it is my personal goal to actually finish this book. for over a year i have kept starting and restarting it so many times that i think i could recite the first 3 chapters by heart.
nothing against austen but the dump of information doesn't really hook me. however this time im going about it differently, im starting with the audiobook to get me into the story and then switching to the book once the plot picks up.
(i know its not like a plot heavy book but you get what i mean)
i think this strategy is working because it makes it easier for me to understand the humour, i like the sisters alot more now and their banter is familiar to me; not just because i have read it so many times now

Can't do it. The old English is ridiculous, and the narrator's voice is horrible. I really wanted to read the book before watching the movie because someone told me the movie is way off base from the book. Someone please convince me to continue. 😭

this is the first time im reading a book after watching a tv show so its a little weird to know what’s going to happen.
anyways, i can already tell im going to obsess over this book. margaret atwood’s writing style is so good. i tend to dislike first person pov books, but offred’s narration and commentary is so real and human. i truly feel like im in her head, which might be a little silly to say.
