From the start, the tension is there and it doesn’t let up. The push and pull between Daphne and Tristan carries the story in the best way. Their banter actually lands, and the chemistry feels natural instead of forced. Tristan brings that dangerous energy without feeling one-note, and Daphne holds her own the entire time which makes their dynamic even better.

What really worked for me was how fast everything moved without feeling empty. There’s action, there’s drama, there’s just enough chaos to keep things interesting, but it never lost my attention. I kept thinking I’d stop after one more chapter and that never happened.

It leans into being a little unhinged at times, but that’s part of the appeal. It knows exactly what it is and doesn’t try to tone itself down.

This was one of those reads that’s just fun from beginning to end.

    Easy five stars. 🌟

It was a quick read that kept my attention the whole time, and I liked the chemistry between the main characters. The male lead, Ezekiel, was definitely a highlight and made the story more enjoyable. At the same time, the pacing felt rushed, especially with the romance. Some of the drama felt like a bit much, and a few twists didn’t really hit the way they should have. I also wanted a little more depth from the characters. Still, it was entertaining and easy to get through, even with its flaws.

What a letdown! I was expecting a hot and steamy read based on all the hype, but honestly it didn’t deliver at all. The “spice” everyone keeps talking about felt basically nonexistent to me, which was a huge letdown. I kept reading, hoping it would pick up or at least make up for it in other ways, but it never really did. There was definitely potential here. The premise had me interested at first, but it just didn’t go where I wanted it to. And that plot twist? It had me rolling my eyes more than anything. Instead of being shocking or satisfying, it felt forced and kind of ruined the experience for me. Overall, I’m pretty disappointed I spent time on this one. Not the worst book ever, but definitely not what I was expecting.. 🫥

This is a story about grief, healing, and confronting the past. Melody is a deeply relatable character, struggling with loss, buried truths, and complicated relationships, which makes her journey feel incredibly real. The tension around trust keeps you hooked. The snowy Christmas lodge setting adds the perfect contrast.. what should be a joyful season becomes a space for emotional reckoning, especially with the blizzard forcing everything to the surface. The romance is emotional and intense, blending love, secrets, and second chances in a way that feels both messy and meaningful. Overall, it is a beautifully written story with strong character development and raw emotion. It truly captures how we process pain and grow from it. ❤️

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. I haven’t been able to shut up about that ending. It’s been living in my head nonstop.

Harper is the kind of character that gets under your skin. Not in a dramatic, overdone way, but in a real, aching way. She’s been failed by every person who was supposed to protect her. An alcoholic mother. A father who disappeared into prison. The only constant she’s ever had is Z, her best friend, her shield, her equal. They survive together. They protect each other. They plan their way out.

    Then everything shifts.

Harper is pulled out of that life and dropped into something that should feel like a fresh start. Money, stability, a home that actually feels like a home. But nothing about it is simple for her. She doesn’t know how to accept safety. She doesn’t know how to trust something good when she’s never had it before.

    And then there’s Caleb.

Caleb is controlled, precise, constantly trying to stay ahead of his own mind. He clings to patterns and numbers just to keep his anxiety in check. On paper, they shouldn’t make sense. But the connection between them is immediate and intense. Quiet, but undeniable. It builds in a way that feels natural and consuming at the same time.

What really hit for me was Harper’s internal conflict. She’s physically in a better place, but mentally she’s still in survival mode. She’s planning, calculating, trying to get back to the only person she’s ever trusted, Z. Even when things start to shift, even when she starts to feel something new, she can’t let go of that past version of herself.

    And then everything falls apart.

That ending completely blindsided me. I had a feeling something was off, but not like that. Z didn’t just cross a line, he shattered everything. The level of manipulation, the way he played everyone, it completely flipped the story on its head. I’m still not over it.

I need The Ruins immediately because that cliffhanger was BRUTAL!

I went in not really knowing what to expect, and ended up finishing it in one sitting. I genuinely couldn’t put it down. The dual timeline was something different for me, but it worked so well. Once both stories got going, I was completely invested in each of them. I didn’t feel like I had to “get through” one to get back to the other, which I was worried about at first. The pacing kept me locked in, and just when I thought I had things figured out… I didn’t. At all. This is one of those books I can actually see myself picking up again, which doesn’t happen often for me. It’s worth it, and then some.

It was such an emotional experience. I almost stopped reading at first, but I’m really glad I didn’t. It takes a minute to get into because of all the character building, but it’s definitely necessary. Knowing it’s based on real events makes it hit even harder. Heartbreaking, but still really beautiful.

This one really had that Desperate Housewives energy I love—suburban life on the surface, but underneath it’s all secrets, side-eyes, and quiet chaos waiting to explode. The atmosphere was easily my favorite part. It felt messy in a good way, like everyone knew more than they were saying, and I was fully locked in trying to piece it together. The overall plot was strong and definitely kept me turning pages, but the ending is where it lost me just a bit. It felt rushed, like everything suddenly sped up and tried to tie itself together all at once. The big reveal had impact, but at the same time, it almost felt like it came out of nowhere instead of being something I could look back on and see building the whole time. Still, I had a lot of fun with this one. The drama, the tension, the shadiness. I just wish the ending had been given a little more room to shock me.
