Since the book features animals please read further for minor spoilers if you're like me and want to know if anything bad happens to them. It will contain nothing of the plot this is just a trigger warning.
I will reply in the comments with the spoiler.

Was apprehensive about this book because 1984 disappointed me so much, but this slaps so far! A classic dystopian book with compelling characters, sign me up! Glad I gave it a shot:)

spoiler spoiler spoiler A side character tells the character about a dog attacked and dying in rather unpleasant detail.

Just finished part 1 and I am very much enjoying Nao's life and perspective. Ruth's personal life is less stimulating for me so far but I do enjoy being on this journey with her as "the reader"
