I am picking up this book occasionally and moving forward, but there doesn't seem to be any story developing? The driving force seems to be Joan's desire to talk about philosophy. Which isn't very compelling, as much as one empathizes. Or Sander's desire to stop time, which is relatable, but unachievable. The setting is fun, and I guess that's why I haven't tossed it over yet.
