this sounds probably insane but i would honestly give this 3.9. its not quite a four star only due to the fact i wasn't a big fan of how in depth it went into the places they find a lot of their fossils. if you dont know about the grand canyon, oh boy you will learn Everything about the grand canyon by the end of this book. incredibly informative and explains terminology used right in the moment, as well as using a glossary as well. hallucigenia you are such a freak and i think thats cool

reading this book is kind of what adhd is like? your brain is jumping from place to place and then you come back to the first thing you started thinking about 20 minutes ago. i think this couldve served well as half of this being about eric prokopi and the other half being a small history on paleontology studies since the book goes into detail about both, but the history of paleontology unfortunately has not a lot to do with the prokopi case (or the people surrounding), it was kinda like the domino meme, where it goes from genghis khan to mongolian politics to us case on a dinosaur where leo dicaprio and nic cage had this dudes dino bones he sold.
had lots of potential tho!
