This book was an incredible read and I cannot wait to see how the final two play out.
The characters were so wonderfully written, and the language used to describe the scenery, how the characters felt, what they saw - all perfection. Chef’s kiss I could see everything so vividly in my mind and a lot of the metaphors and such are probably what make the writing itself my favorite part.
The story kept me wanting to read - I was extremely invested in the challenges characters faced and the plot twists presented. There were times where I laughed. Times where I cried a bit. Times where I was audibly gasping so that my husband was woken from almost sleep (how dare I enjoy an amazing novel while he’s trying to doze off??).
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to those who love violence, blood, vampires, and even a little bit of queer romance. It’s a wonderful tale of a completely original world (with some real world flavors) that I really do believe deserves some sort of HBO TV adaptation. Well done.
