āobviously i see Black people on campus, but itās different to walk into a space entirely made up of people who look like me. and itās more than that.ā
just ššš
honestly i feel pretty bad that i havenāt read anything that goes this deeply into this sort of difference mindset- kind of sad that a fantasy book is the first that iāve seen in reading fiction

As the title says, I'm a bit dried up on what to read. And though, admittedly I have fantasy wlw books lined up in tbr, I'm not in the mood for those in particular.
So I was wondering if anyone knows some good fantasy wlw books that isn't big like Gideon the 9th, Priory, etc.
Whether it's some supernatural fantasy of werewolves, witches, etc. or the classic dragon fantasy of knights and swords, the likes. I'm up for anything really. I need something to scratch the itch š

I just used the Plan feature which is SO neat, and I think is a nice balance between having a TBR and mood reading. Plus it just āØlooks goodāØ
I'm so much more of a mood reader, but sometimes it's nice having a few books that I know I want to read in a general time frame, so I have a selection to look at first when trying to pick my next book.
Of course, the quests and readalongs here are going to dictate some of my reading, but I'm finding that a fun project to look forward to.

Didn't think I would like it too much aftwr dipping my toes into the first few pages a bit. Somehow, three months later, I find myself in the mood for it and have somehow read enough for it be a page-turner. Brilliant!

Hey everyone! Iāve been on a huge romantic suspense kick lately and just finished binging a few of Catherine Cowlesā books. I loved the mix of small-town charm, emotional depth, and that perfect touch of danger + protective love interest. Now Iām desperate for more reads that give me similar vibes!
Iām looking for: Strong emotional connection between the leads Some level of mystery, danger, or suspense woven through the romance Bonus points for small-town or found family settings Ideally not overly heavy on procedural or FBI plotlines: I prefer character-driven tension
Iāve already read and loved authors like: Devney Perry K.A. Tucker (The Simple Wild and Keep Her Safe) Laura Pavlov Melinda Leigh (though a bit more mystery than romance for me)
Would love any recommendations that hit that sweet spot between heartfelt and thrilling. Open to indie or traditionally published recs: just want that protective love, emotional angst, and slow-burn danger combo!
What are your favourites? š¬
