What a delightfully classic middle grade fantasy. I'm not sure how to explain how 80s and early 90s middle grade fantasy feels, but Howl's Moving Castle is so very much that. It's a delight from start to finish and has such a fun finale! Yet another recent read that I am already looking forward to revisiting sometime in the future.

A Quiet Kind of Love opened with absolutely beautiful poetic prose that expressed themes of quiet, giving and holding space, acceptance without expectations all so well. Unfortunately, after about 30% of the story the scenes started to become increasingly repetitive and then weird inconsistencies regarding the timeline started to become more and more pronounce.
This story has a great message but, while beautifully written, seems like it was also trying too hard. A disappointment because it holds so much promise.

The set up for this vampire romance ticked a lot of tropes that deeply appealed to me while also including ace rep (demisexuality) and I ended up grabbing this only a few days after hearing about it. I DEVOURED How to Sell Your Blood and Fall In Love in less than 24hrs and I am incredibly tempted to reread it immediately. I wish it was LONGER and we got more time exploring a few aspects of the story that built the entirety but that I would've liked more of. A very well-written story with an interesting overall series plot and brilliantly written characters that absolutely destroyed me feelings in all the best ways. I've found a new couple to add to my favorites - always. đ
The last scene convinced me to backtrack and read the rest of the series though. So if you pick this up because it specifically appealed outside of the rest of the series, be warned. đ
