What a beautiful story of found family, trans joy, and queer love! A little bit of magical realism in a bakery I wish so much was real. I want nothing more than to be able to visit the Proud Muffin in real life!
Gender fluid, agender, demi, sapphic, and achillean representation in this book is absolutely beautiful done. This book is a perfect example of how we can have complex stories encompassing queer identities without rooting them in trauma. Are some aspects tragic and heartbreaking? Absolutely. BUT not because of any biases, bigotry, or hate. Only because we are only human and humans are flawed, even queer folk.
