omfg. WHAT A WAY to end the novel. Overall, while the horror elements are there, I felt more grief than anything. . Also can i just say that the audiobook is absolutely amazing

[switching to audiobook so that i can enjoy this during work]

Im so intrigued by the Blackfeet terms for animals, food, figures etc. learning so much from this book! also thank god for the reading guide truly.

So far, im loving how layered the story is so far, especially with the historical elements. It's activating the historian in me

This book is a homerun for me on paper but in reality I’m very meh about it. I can’t even tell if it’s because Stephanie Garber’s writing is just not my cup of tea (mixed feelings on her YA books and this honestly still reads young), or simply because Sutton Foster is a shockingly bad audiobook narrator to the point even the reveals are in monotone.

Does the book pick up? Is it better off audio? I wanna like it so bad but it but something just isn’t clicking
